Hi. I am a boat capt in south west Louisiana on a rotating schedule...I live in new england....we ended up at the bar...mistake number 1...my ride left without me...i had to walk near 2 miles to the boat..a truck was speeding twords me and i had to jump in the ditch to avoid being hit...i ended up soaking wet and muddy...to make a long story short...i got a guys truck muddy...the damage is estimated at 400.00 ...i was charged with simple criminal destruction of property...wondering what the fine or penalty for this offense. Thanks

An attorney can appear without the client at arraignments usually since the purpose is to hear the charges and enter a plea.

This is something you need to discuss with your lawyer since any attempt to contact the complainant by you can lead to other charges if things don't work out.
