I was a leasing agent at a apartment complex owned by a family who employs there family. I had been in and out of A.A> for years and fell off the wagon on halloween. Monday morning Nov. 1 i went to my employer and asked for 2 days off to get myself together because if i didnt i was going to lose my job if I didnt seek help. She gave me the 2 days off and I am continuing with help for myself. The week back she was very distant to me and on friday 11.13.09 she called me into her office and told me she didnt trust me anymore and that it wasnt working out, she also told me I could collect unemployment while I got my life back on track. After the initial shock I asked her when did she want me to move because i have no place to go. She said dont worry about that right now. Tuesday i get a eviction notice on my door and was also told her daughther whom just got out of rehab 6 months ago replace me. Part of my salary was paying $300 a month rent which she took out of my paycheck the beginning of the month.Knowing I dont have a job, knowing i will be reciecving unemployment she hasnt given me the oppotunity to even attempt to try and come up with the normal amount of rent which is #650. Is this fair do I need to fight this because she gave me til dec.4th to vacate. Its like she has it in for me......Any suggestions would be appreciated. Melinda

La being a "right to work" state you can be fired at any time for any or no reason at all.
Assuming the proper legal procedures were followed for the eviction notice then you really don't have a legal leg to stand on there.

I would be looking really hard for another job and a place to stay.

She has taken a hard line for reasons you will probably never know.

Unfortunately, as Jray said, there isn't much you can do from a legal standpoint.

me, since you're fired anyways, I'd file a complaint with Louisiana EEOC saying it was retailiation against me for revealing a protected condition under the ADA. You've got time to do the paperwork, after all.
