How can I legally stop a con man from calling my Dad with "deals"? My Dad is elderly & vulnerable both mentally and physically, and has been taken advantage of by this guy before. I have told this guy & my Dad has, too, to stop calling, there won't be any more "deals". Every week or so, he continues to call anyway. What can I/we do? Would a cease and desist order work?
Also, he overcharged my Dad on a "deal", over and above the agreed upon price. Unfortunately, the guy just faxed his proposal, started the work & when the bill came in overpriced, my Dad just paid it because he didn't want to cause problems. My Dad never signed it, but the guy did in first name only. I also have a person that witnessed him verbally agree to the lower price, although if called to court they would probably be considered "hostile". Is there anything that can be done about it now, some law against taking advantage of the elderly, something?
